This blog discusses old toys from the early 1920's to the end of the 1950's. All kinds of topics are discussed. The time span was the greatest period for "hands-on" toys, where a young child could actually go outside and play for hours at a time. You can see the elegance but simple design of these toys. It was a time when huge machines, and people made and finished toys by hand. The era has long passed, but many of the toys are still around, and that is what I would like to share.

More Unidentified Find

It's very coincidental that today's post is again about unidentified toys. The bottommost toy is a Chad Valley toy (Great Britain), but the other two cars are unidentified. I've seen similar cars like these before, but I cant identify their manufacturer.

Length: 8 5/8" 22 cm

The toy below caught my attention as the photograph was quite interesting.

I hope the seller wasn't taking the photo as he was driving!

Old Chad Valley Car (British)

Length: 9 7/8" 25 cm

The identification of this car is very simple, since the name is

lithographed on the back of the car. Chad Valley was a British manufacturer

of toys. As well, the initials "C.V." are on the front license plate.

What's also of interest is the fact that the steering wheel is on the right side of the car.
